AAPA is looking for Volunteers!!!

HOD Volunteers- The deadline for all HOD Volunteer opportunities is July 28.

  • Standing Rules Committee
    • Help review and refine the Standing Rules to ensure alignment with bylaws, improve efficiency, and address directives from the House Speakers. To apply for this volunteer opportunity, please complete the volunteer form.
  • House Policy Review Committee
    • Play a vital role in shaping AAPA policy by reviewing assigned policies in consultation with leadership, constituent organizations, and subject matter experts. Volunteers will help develop resolutions and recommendations for consideration at the 2026 House of Delegates meeting. To apply for this volunteer opportunity, please complete the volunteer form.
  • Designation for Excellence Task Force
    • Join other fellow members, student members, HOD delegates, and early career PAs to fulfill HOD resolution 2025-B-16: “The HOD requests that a joint task force be formed to research and explore the development of criteria for awarding a designation to institutions of excellence in utilization of PAs to report back to the 2026 HOD.” To apply for this volunteer opportunity, please complete the volunteer form.
  • Governance Review Task Force
    • Join other fellow members, student members, HOD delegates, and early career PAs to fulfill HOD resolution 2024-A-07: “AAPA shall create a task force appointed by the Board of Directors and House of Delegates to review the existing governance structure to assess whether it meets the needs of the membership. Pertinent topics include but are not limited to: Board of Directors’ composition/size, regionalization and constituent representation, transparency & function of the House of Delegates, related to the ability to represent the PA profession and all PAs.”  To apply for this volunteer opportunity, please complete the volunteer form.

 

ASCO Healthcare Liaison- Application deadline is July 23.

AAPA is seeking an AAPA fellow member to represent the Academy and the profession to the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).  The ideal candidate is an AAPA fellow member who has demonstrated the ability to develop relationships, assertively address issues with physicians and medical organizations, and have a track record of securing physician support for PA issues. This PA will have an excellent working relationship with AAPA leaders and have extensive clinical experience. They will be well-versed in and supportive of AAPA’s strategic plan, policy positions, and recent developments. They will understand trends in healthcare, the U.S. political landscape, clinical issues, and policies and sensitivities of the national medical organization.

 The liaison will be appointed to a two-year term beginning July 2025 and concluding June 30, 2027. The liaison is generally expected to attend one in-person meeting per year of the national medical organization. Participation in a yearly liaison conference call is also expected. The liaison will be asked to submit a report after attending an in-person meeting.
