Happy Tuesday, AHPAC! Please see below for some updates and exciting opportunities:

  1. USPSTF Opportunity: Dive into an exciting opportunity with the US Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF). Explore more details and take advantage of this chance by clicking on the link. The deadline to apply is February 16, 2024. This is a four-year commitment from 2025-2029.

  2. National Medical Association (NMA) Medical Liaison. NMA is an organization that promotes the collective interests of physicians and patients of African descent. Volunteer for this opportunity to represent AAPA by filling out the application located here. The deadline is March 31, 2024. *The full list of AAPA Medical Liaison opportunities is listed here
  3. Want to volunteer for a NEW AAPA Program that includes working with HBCUs? For more information/ express interest, send an email to aapaahc@gmail.com by THIS FRIDAY, February 2, 2024.

  5. Scholarship Reminders: The deadline for our Prentiss L. Harrison Memorial / African Heritage PA Caucus scholarship is March 1. For more information and to apply, visit the link.

  6. Physician Associates For Latino Health (PALH) Scholarship also available to any PA student who is also a member of  PALH and SAAPA with an interest in Latino health issues. Deadline is March 31, 2024.

  7. HBCU Pre-PA Fair: Join the Georgia Association of PAs on February 24, 2024, for their first HBCU Pre-PA Fair! Students can register here.

  8. AAPA Conference Security Updates: Stay informed about the latest updates on security measures for the upcoming AAPA Conference this May. Don't forget there's still time to REGISTER. 

  9. Drum Newsletter Submissions. We're calling for submissions for the Drum Newsletter! Email submissions to aapaahc@gmail.com.

  10. Congratulations to the New Elected/ Confirmed AHPAC Officers. We are excited to have a new STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE!! Welcome Vantasia!
