Position: Psychiatric Physician Assistant

Location: Berryville or Fairfax, VA Office (Hybrid with at least two days onsite per week)

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Diagnose and treat a variety of mental health conditions, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance abuse disorders
• Provide psychotherapy, medication management, or a combination of both, tailored to patient needs.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating psychotherapy techniques and medication management as appropriate
• Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute mental health crises
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
• Participate in continuing education to stay current with the latest advancements in psychiatric care
• Successful candidates must be comfortable with offering Psychotherapy only intervention if preferred by their patients

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a psychiatric or mental health facility
• Licensed Physician Assistant in Virginia with certification(s) in Psychiatry/Mental Health.
• Strong understanding of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and therapeutic interventions.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
• Comfortable using psychotherapy, medication intervention, or both to treat patients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Passion for providing high-quality mental health care

Pay: $60.00 - $120.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
